The 5th Annual Ride and Stride for Wishes will be held June 14, 2009. Ride and Stride offers four different routes: a Children’s Parade, a 3-mile walk as well as 10- and 35-mile bicycle rides.
The bicycle routes will pass through Chicago’s scenic North Shore. The longer routes will follow picturesque terrain through the beautiful Cook County Forest Preserve and offer both casual and experienced cyclists exciting challenges. The 10-mile family ride loop will safely allow cyclists of all ages and fitness levels to participate while helping a great cause. And, two fully staffed rest stops along the bicycle route will provide snacks, drinks and bike assistance for all riders.
Participants, their families and supporters, as well as event volunteers will join together after the ride to celebrate their success. Sponsor booths, prizes/giveaways and a delicious lunch will be provided, all thanks to our generous donors. Funds raised by event participants and sponsors directly benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois.
All routes start and finish at Westfield's Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie, IL. Registration and post-event entertainment will be located in the parking lot off Lawler Avenue. To park, enter on Golf Road and proceed to the parking deck closest to Nordstrom. Park on the upper level.
